Hi, I’m Simon.
I’m an ICF-accredited coach and the founder of Couple Up, a practical, modern approach to helping couples improve communication, repair repeated conflict and rebuild connection.
I created Couple Up because too many couples wait until their relationship reaches breaking point before asking for help.
Often, the love has not disappeared. The couple has simply become trapped in patterns they no longer know how to change.
The same disagreement keeps returning. One person pushes for answers while the other withdraws. Both partners feel unheard, defensive or increasingly disconnected.
Couple Up gives you a structured space to understand what is really happening and learn how to respond differently.
Why I created Couple Up
Relationships rarely fall apart because of one bad conversation. Distance usually develops gradually.

Work becomes demanding. Parenting takes over. Important conversations are postponed. Small frustrations become resentment, and before long, two people who once felt incredibly close start feeling like opponents, or even strangers.

I believe couples deserve support before they reach the point where separation feels like the only option.

That is why Couple Up is built around early, practical intervention. The aim is not to decide who is right or wrong. It is to help both partners understand the pattern between them and take responsibility for creating something healthier.

A practical approach to relationship change
Couple Up is not about sitting through endless conversations without knowing what to do next.

Our work is structured, honest and action-focused.

Together, we explore:
-
How your communication styles affect the relationship
 -
What happens when conflict begins
 -
The roles you each play in repeated arguments
 -
The needs and feelings underneath your reactions
 -
Why one person may pursue while the other withdraws
 -
How to listen without immediately defending yourself
 -
How to express difficult feelings without attacking
 -
How to repair disagreements before they create lasting damage
 -
How to rebuild friendship, trust and emotional connection
Â
You will leave sessions with practical tools, conversation techniques and agreed actions to use between sessions.
Â
The goal is to help you create changes that work in real life—not only while you are speaking with me.

My coaching background
I am an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and have completed more than 1,000 hours of professional coaching.

Throughout my career, I have supported people from different countries, cultures and professional backgrounds through periods of conflict, pressure, transition and change.

My wider coaching work has included assignments with leaders and professionals from organisations including Google, Visa, LEGO, Allianz, New Balance, ABSA Bank and Ocorian.

That experience has taught me that communication problems are rarely caused by people not caring. More often, people hear, process and respond to situations differently, and those differences become more pronounced under pressure.

My relationship work draws on established coaching methods, communication-style assessments, values exploration and Gottman-informed relationship principles. These frameworks are translated into clear, usable tools for modern couples.
Understanding modern and multicultural relationships
I am British and have lived and worked internationally for many years. I am now based in Singapore and married to a Singaporean.

That international experience has given me a personal understanding of relationships involving different cultures, family expectations, communication styles and ideas about marriage.

One partner may believe that love should be shown through words and emotional openness. The other may show love through practical support, responsibility or providing for the family.

Neither approach is necessarily wrong, but without understanding, both people can feel unappreciated.

I work with married and committed couples in Singapore, Australia and Dubai. All sessions are conducted online in English, making it possible to continue the process when work, travel or relocation places partners in different locations.

The 7-Week Relationship Reset
My core service is the 7-Week Relationship Reset a focused programme containing eight private sessions.

The programme begins by creating clarity around the relationship, the challenges you are experiencing and what each partner needs to change.

It then helps you:
Â
-
Understand your individual communication styles
 -
Identify your repeated conflict loop
 -
Recognise the triggers beneath your reactions
 -
Communicate needs without blame or criticism
 -
Listen without immediately becoming defensive
 -
Repair conflict more constructively
 -
Rebuild emotional connection
 -
Create a personalised plan for moving forward
Â
You will receive practical exercises and actions between sessions so that progress continues outside our conversations.
Let’s talk about what is happening
You do not need to know exactly what is wrong before asking for support.

The free 30-minute Relationship Analysis Session is an opportunity to tell me what has been happening, what you would like to change and what you have already tried.

We can then decide whether the 7-Week Relationship Reset is the right next step for you.

There is no pressure and no judgement, just an honest conversation about your relationship and the way forward.
A little more about
me
Outside coaching, I enjoy running, surfing, travelling and spending time with my wife and family.

I am also neurodivergent, with dyslexia and ADHD. This has shaped the way I work: I value clarity, direct communication, curiosity and finding practical approaches that suit the individual rather than expecting everyone to think or communicate in the same way.

I do not believe healthy relationships need to be perfect. They need two people who are willing to remain curious, take responsibility and keep turning towards each other—even when it would be easier to withdraw.
What you can expect from me
Working on a relationship requires honesty, but it should not involve humiliation, judgement or choosing sides.

During our work together, you can expect:

-
A calm and respectful environment
-
Space for both partners to be heard
-
Direct but compassionate feedback
-
Practical tools rather than vague advice
-
Clear actions following each session
-
Confidentiality within the limits explained before the programme begins
-
A balanced focus on individual responsibility and the relationship itself
Â
I will not tell you who is right. I will help you understand what is happening, what each of you can control and what needs to change.
